10 ways to get happy - Part II

In "10 ways to get happy - Part I" I talked more about the heavy changes that require a lot of constant hard work. Now let's get to the fun stuff! 6. Be active

As I said in the last post: Enjoy the moment! Enjoy life. Find something to do, that you enjoy. Whether it is meeting up with friends, sport, a hobby, it could be anything! It'll keep you away from over thinking and will help you to live in the moment. I have to stress the importance of physical activity, especially sport. There are so many benefits besides staying fit and healthy. It will help you to lose all your stress, and the endorphins will make you feel happy and balanced.

7. Step out of your comfort zone

Sometimes you have to force yourself to do things you were not eager to do in the first place. You have to ask yourself, "Why don't I want to do this?". At times our actions could be driven by laziness or worse fear. And when we don't step out of our comfort zone it might be that we are only nourishing our fear. This is fatal. It hinders you to progress and take action. Stepping out of your comfort zone shows you, if you really don't like it or if you were only fearful.

8. Invest in yourself

Do things that will make you progress. Stagnation is the death to your soul.  Invest in learning something new, read, educate yourself. I believe that knowledge is one of the few things somebody really owns. Don't get me wrong, it doesn't have to be something highly academic. Learn from life, it could be anything you are interested in. Just make the effort of investing some time in yourself by seeing and experiencing new and different things.

9. Give and you'll get something back

Sometimes you have to give back to receive something good. Although it might sound selfish, but when you help people this might open new opportunities for you, that you never could have imagined. Karma is a beast! Put some positive energy out there. But besides that, you will always get satisfaction out of helping people and doing something good.

10. Travel

This is, of course, my favorite one. I am always the happiest, when I am travelling. For me, it combines everything of the above. I'm being active, getting to know new cultures and differences, stepping out of my comfort zone, appreciating the little things, not over thinking and enjoying the moment. "Travel is the only thing you buy, that makes you richer!" and I do believe in that. I would even recommend it to people who don't like to travel. It re-evaluates your situation at home and can make you appreciate it more.
